Quick release rings for the tools on my electronics bench

Made from the sprung stainless steel inserts from old car wiper blades (the rubber bit sometimes has these in it, ask at your local garage) & some 2.4mm stainless wire for the jump rings.

Shaped with jewellery pliers

Better than keyring style rings, these quickly lock into, and out of, place

Heads are home grown & seasoned holly, wedges are mahogany & handles are beech.

Handles turned from old table legs, spoke shaved ovoid, danish oiled and burnished smooth with 00 wire wool.

Added extra weight with heated and shrunk rings

All heads danish oil soaked in poly bag, finish left on heads

Simple, inexpensive, permanent & unobtrusive…

3m x 160mm o/d aluminium van tube (3″ fall over length to let water out)…

Bosch PTL1; 2kw, 2.4l capacity = 45 mins, 3m hose.

Hose fitting is 14mm circumference plus the bayonet (push fit only as added saftey).

Machined brass fitting from propane bottle valve (3/4 bspt, 14mm bore).

End cap is left loose (hinged at top) to allow steam egress.
